How Do I Make An Appointment?
You can make an appointment with a doctor or nurse by phoning the Health Centre or by calling in person when the reception is open.
You can also book appointments online, ask at reception for details.
You have a right to express a preference of practitioner and we will do our best to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice. Should your preferred doctor not have a free appointment you will be offered an appointment with one of the other GPs in the practice.
You will never be refused to see a doctor if one is available. If you no longer need your appointment please let us know.
Please remember that appointments are for ONE person only. If you feel your consultation may be lengthy, ask the receptionist for a DOUBLE APPOINTMENT when you book.
Please note children under 5 years can have same day access with a prescribing clinician either via telephone or appointment.
Walk In Centre
Should you require to see a clinician urgently but the surgery is fully booked, you can visit the walk in centres at:
The walk in centre is situated in the new ICC Building (opposite Queen Elizabeth Hall)
It is open from 7:00AM - 10.30PM.
Any patient can attend during this time, no appointment is needed.
Chaperones
The practice has a policy of offering a chaperone during all intimate examinations. You have the right to ask for a chaperone at any time
Telephone Advice
If you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse, the receptionist will advise you. It is essential that you tell the receptionist briefly about your problem and your telephone
EMERGENCY/SAME-DAY Appointments
We offer children under 5 years a GP contact on the same day. This is usually an appointment to see a GP, however telephone consultations are also available if preferred by the patient.
Please do not be offended if the receptionist asks you for some information regarding your problem while you are on the phone. This is only to give the GP as much detail as they can so that they can help you in the best way possible.
